2 T-129 ATAK helicopters delivered to the Nigerian army!
Struggling with security issues, Nigeria has purchased 2 T-129 ATAK helicopters for use in both urban and terrain missions. The agreement was made months ago, and Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) began production of the ordered helicopters. The delivery was made yesterday through a military ceremony organized by Nigeria.
The ceremony was attended by many officials from the Nigerian government. The common theme of the statements made was that the ATAK helicopters purchased by Nigeria are a significant force against armed gangs and terrorist organizations threatening Nigeria’s security.
A total of 6 T-129 ATAKs were ordered by the country, consisting of 3 batches. While the delivery of the first batch was made yesterday, the delivery of the 2nd batch, consisting of 2 helicopters, is planned for 2024. Additionally, it is certain that the Nigerian government will increase the number of helicopters to be purchased and acquire new ATAK helicopters.
